People You Should Follow – Gary Vaynerchuk

I have been surfing around YouTube for a while, and by a while I mean several years. I really started watch a lot of motivation and marketing strategies videos, along with longer speaker conference types. A month or so ago on my sidebar (aka “the rabbit hole”) I came across a video that sparked my interest, not sure what is was or what the specific picture or title was, but I just know I thought “Hmmm.. that looks interesting.” So I clicked it. This is where my infatuation with Gary Vaynerchuk (aka Gary Vee) started (find his social links at the bottom of this article).

After watching the video, no, actually probably before the video ended, I clicked subscribed and checked out his YouTube channel. I was impressed. He had so much content and what looked to be useful information (which turns out, it was extremely useful) I was really ready to dig in and start watching and listening to it. After watch several (probably more like 1 or 2) of videos I was hooked. The way the Gary talks and presents information is unique and more the type of person I am drawn to when wanting to learn now days. It’s not boring at all and he does use colorful language, which is always a plus when learning. Seeing that he doesn’t care about the PC Police (sound effect: whoop, whoop), they aren’t on his radar and he doesn’t conform to say “All the correct Things” that others tend to do.

I have watched/listened to a lot of Gary Vee content over the past month and still have a lot more to consume. I’m not going to list his whole bio here, if you go check out his channel and listen to him you’ll find it, but basically he grew his family wine business from 3 million to 60 million with the internet. He now mostly works on social media and has his own firm, Vayner Media, which he runs. His focus is mainly on social media platforms, a lot of Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc. He has a 2-3 times a week show he does, on YouTube, called #AskGaryVee, he answers questions from people about business, marketing, social media and anything else you ask him. Oh ya, he is also a huge Jets fan, you will find this out.

Gary has written several books and actually I just purchased one myself, “Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook | How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World.” So far I have only read a little bit, but the reviews have been awesome and there is no reason for me not to think that it won’t be an excellent resource to use for internet marketing and other similar niches. He is also coming out with a new book in the next month or so and that one is based on the YouTube show, “#AskGaryVee: One Entrepreneur’s Take on Leadership, Social Media, and Self-Awareness” I will be picking that one up as well after I get done reading JJJRH. I highly recommend you check out his YouTube channel and follow him on all of the social media platforms. He is constantly putting out new content just about everyday.
