Contact forms are an essential part of your wordpress site. You need to be able to capture submissions forms and make sure they are getting to your inbox. There are several different form plugins that you could use to get this accomplished, but which one should you use? I have experience with probably the two most popular form plugins, Gravity Forms and Contact Form 7.
Gravity Forms is a premium plugin and Contact Form 7 is free. This should already settle who the winner is, but I will explain for those of you that don’t know. While Contact Form 7 really just captures user information and sends it to you via email, Gravity Forms does much more than that. For me, the main advantage of Gravity Forms is that is also captures the information in the back end of wordpress and it also captures the form views and conversion rate. You can use gravity forms with premium wordpress themes from Theme Forest or Elegant Themes.
Why Gravity Forms is Better than Contact Form 7
Gravity Forms allows you to login to your wordpress dashboard and view the entries that have been entered, this is huge. Lets say someone calls you and asks if you received the form from your site they filled out, if you didn’t you could go back and view it if it was made with Gravity Forms if you didn’t have that they would have to go back and fill out the form again. In addition to capturing the form submissions in the backend, there are also a number of plugin add-ons that are provided if you have the developer membership.
The forms you can create with Gravity forms are super easy to create, as they have a drag and drop form builder. There are a number of different options that you can choose from and you can ingrate with a lot of different platforms including PayPal, WooCommence, Aweber, Get Response, Mail Chimp, Authorize.net and many more. These things are important especially if you want expand your business going forward. I would highly recommend using gravity forms over contact form 7,
